Lots of Variety Offshore
Report Date: December 19, 2016
Fishing for us remains very good here in the Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale area. Since our last report, we have been catching a large variety such as blackfin tuna and skipjack tuna. There was a week straight that the bite was really good in the late in the afternoon trolling light tackle with small feathers around 200' of water.
We are seeing more and more mahi-mahi, which is good news. There's also a good amount of kingfish in the area and some are pretty good size fish weighing around 30 lb. We've been catching these smoker kings on live goggle eyes in deeper water. We're also catching smaller kings in shallow water as well, between 90'to 130'.
We’re getting shots at sailfish on most of every trip we do lately. And now, around the full moon, there's been wahoo being caught everyday. We had one at 35 lb. yesterday. The fishing should continue to be really good for the coming week.
Until next time, good luck and tight lines!
