Captains' Biography
Captain Mario and Captain Kevin Cote (father and son) have both been fishing for over 20 years in south Florida and the Bahamas. Through their passion for fishing and boating, they have mastered and learned their techniques from some of the most experienced professional charter fishing captains in South Florida.
From Quebecois Creeks to Florida's Big Seas
Capt Mario Cote started fishing from small rivers and creeks from his home town in Quebec. Fishing for small trout at the age of 19 he moved to Florida fishing on drift boats and charter boats in the Florida Keys. Then he bought his first boat, he brought his son Kevin along for the first fishing trip. Kevin at the age of 5 on his first offshore adventure catching a beautiful 32 lb. bull dolphin on that nice summer day and was hooked – he fished every following weekend.
He just wanted to catch more and more and learn as much as possible, and started asking everybody at the boat ramp where they caught their fish, the time of day it was, and most importantly what they caught it on. After learning these new tactics he would go home to write it down in his school journal and started drawing pictures of the fish he caught in the same journal, as the years went by, Mario and Kevin started to participate in charity tournaments and did well in most of them.
At the age of 17, Kevin and Mario went to school to get their captains’ license to share the passion of fishing with others now both are full time captains waiting for your call or email so you can come and enjoy their passion with you.
