Fishing is Only Going to get Better

I know it's been a while since my last report, but yes, we fished a lot and had great time with our customers! We also caught lots of nice trophy fish. Fishing in the local waters of Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale has been pretty good for the last several weeks.
Just this past weekend, a very nice family from Syracuse, New York, were in town and decided to come fishing with us. That Saturday morning the weather was nice with a north breeze of about 10 to 15 knots, perfect conditions for kite fishing. Before heading out, we bought 1-1/2 dozen goggle eyes for our half day of fishing. As soon as we put out our first bait, one of our customers said, "I'd really like to catch a sailfish. I've never caught one." I replied, "well, be ready, because there's a good chance you'll catch your first one this morning." Not long after that, we got hit on one of the kite baits and he was all happy. He fought the fish for about 20 minutes. We got the fish to the boat for a quick picture and released the fish healthy. All together, they were 6 people, 3 brothers and their good friends. All together that day the group caught 2 sailfish, 3 large kingfish, 1 mahi and 2 nice barracudas.
On another recent trip, we had a last m minute booking and were unable to secure live bait - so we decided to troll and ended up with a very successful fishing trip. After just a short amount of time of trolling, some our favorite lures we were able to land 12 skipjack tunas, 2 blackfin tunas and 2 mahi. This half-day trip ended with some very happy customers.
During a leisurely visit to the Bahamas, right before hurricane Matthew passed by, we had one of most active fishing days ever. We were able to land a large amount of fish but also a large a variety of fish. Fish such as almaco jack, mystic grouper, a large amount of yellow eye snapper, wahoo and a large kingfish.
Overall fishing has been great, lots of kingfish are being caught, and every trip we have a chance for sailfish. As fall approaches and water temperatures drop, lots of migratory species will be entering the local waters of Hollywood and Ft. Lauderdale. We are very optimistic for another spectacular November of fishing.
